A New Beginning

It's been quite a while since my last foray into blogging,

a slightly bizarre part of the Internet’s tubes (thank you, Ted Stevens; you’ll always be my hero) that never seems to be able to figure out the exact degree of its seriousness. Some blogging is quite good (the “super-stars” of the design and development spheres come to mind), some is quite passionate (Zed Shaw, a bit?), but much of it is quite rubbish; trite, pointless garbage tossed into cyberspace in the vain hope to get some Google hits and maybe a bit of AdSense revenue. So if there is such a high possibility of becoming as useful as Meat Loaf’s brain or a Southerner’s pleasantries, what the hell is the point?

Before getting to the point, allow me to briefly digress to a slightly related fact: I loved old, simple things. That does not mean retro aesthetic design, it does mean, however, simple (not simplistic, mind you), highly-functional, engineered industrial design. With this is mind, this little collection of linked “hypertext documents” will, hopefully, function not as a willfully-insipid “blog”, but as a enlightened “web log”, something that offers original thought and saves that thought for a long, long time (in Internet-speak, of course, a long time means about the length that Obama kept his campaign promises).
